Praise the Lord! We glorify the Lord for making it a possibility to gather here this year for our biennial Youth and Young Adult’s conference. Since our last gathering, we are the witnesses of the goodness of God in our lives. COVID-19 pandemic came, shook the world; many were swept away but God gave us the grace to be among the living today. All glory to his name. The bible tells us in the book of Luke 24:49, “And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.” This is what this conference this year is all about, tarrying for the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is very important in Christians’ lives. You will hear many things the Holy Spirit performs in our lives during this conference. Please pay close attention to every word and let your minds absorb what the Spirit of God will drop from time to time. Please refrain from distracting yourselves with all kinds of media on your phones and tablets. Do not wander around the town while service is going on. Be obedient to your leaders' instructions and it shall be well with you. That being said, I and the members of the National Executive Council want to welcome you to this conference, and we pray that all of you will be baptized by the Holy Spirit and the blessings of heaven will descend upon you all.
Pastor Emmanuel Falaye
National Chairman, The Apostolic Church Glorious Vision, USA
I want to welcome everyone to this year’s national youth and young adults conference. It has been three years since last we gathered together like this; and it is my prayer that your coming will not be in vain in the mighty name of Jesus Christ - Amen. Our theme for this conference is “Come, Holy Spirit” (Acts 1:8); and there is no doubt that He is going to show up because the Bible tells us that: “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:20); and “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” (Numbers 23:19). So, by the authority of the scriptures, we know that the Holy Spirit is going to come powerfully at this conference. The Holy Spirit is coming with power and grace for new levels in Christ (Acts 4:33). The Holy Spirit is coming with the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:20-22) and spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 12:1-11) for as many whose hearts are ready to be filled. The Holy Spirit is coming to turn youths, young adults, and adults into witnesses for Jesus Christ with signs and wonders (Acts 2:43; 4:30; 5:12; 6:8). The Holy Spirit is coming for you and me, but the question is: “Are we going to welcome Him and let Him do what He needs to do with our lives?” Are you willing to be the clay and let God be the potter at this conference (Romans 9:21; Jeremaih 18:1-11)? Have you come to keep a date with destiny, or you are just here to mark attendance? Are you going to allow the Holy Spirit to break, melt, mold, and shape you into a vessel of honor that is ready for the Master’s use; or you are just here to waste your time (2 Timothy 2:19-21)? Your answers to these questions will determine if you are leaving this conference as a sign and wonder or a sigh and blunder (Isaiah 8:18; Jude 1:12-13). It is very important that you make up your mind not to be distracted by anything or anyone at this conference. It is good to meet new friends and other believers; but no matter who you meet at this conference, you MUST NOT miss the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not going to force Himself upon anyone that is not willing to do divine business with God (Genesis 6:3). There is no limit to what the Holy Spirit can do with our lives at this conference; regardless of age, background, color, socio-economic status, position, or title (Acts 10:44-48; Acts 15:6-11). The Holy Spirit is coming for all of us as it is written in the scriptures: “28 And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. 29 And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days” (Joel 2:28). God fulfilled this promise on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4), and this is our time to be a partaker of this awesome experience as written in Acts 2:38-39, “38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.” So, what are you going to do with your life at this conference? Are you going to open the door of your heart and allow Jesus to take over the wheel of your destiny, or you still want to continue a life without evidence and proof of the power and grace of God (Revelation 3:20)? The table is set, and God is ready to do awesome and terrible things in our midst (Matthew 22:1-14). Are you ready? Let your response be: “Come, Holy Spirit”.
